At the launch event at St Helena Hospice’s fundraising office yesterday each team was given £50, kindly donated by Birkett Long solicitors. They now have 10 weeks to invest, grow and nurture their £50 into as much money as possible for the charity who help local people face incurable illness and bereavement.

St Helena Hospice supporter engagement fundraiser Jo Clarke said: “We’re thrilled to have so many great teams signed up to the challenge this year, and we’re really excited by all the things they are coming up with! We already have a golf day, a wine tasting and a car wash in the calendar and we can’t wait to see what else the teams do with their £50!”

 Katie Robertson, marketing coordinator at Birkett Long, said: “We are delighted to be given the opportunity to sponsor the £50 Challenge again this year. Birkett Long is here for good and 200 years’ experience has taught us it’s not just about knowing the law. It’s also about the impact we have on our communities. We have a long standing relationship with St Helena Hospice who really reflect our own values as a business and are excited that community groups as well as local businesses are encouraged to take part in the challenge this year.
