If you've got enough pots, pans and towels you might consider asking your guests to give the gift of kindness and make a donation instead of buying you a gift.
If you're including this information on your invitations be sure to let your guests know why you've chosen to support St Helena Hospice and how they can donate. Include a link to your online giving site if you have one (see our how to set up an online fundraising page) or let them know there will be somewhere to donate cash on the day. We can provide donation envelopes or collection pots for your big day, email our fundraising team at fundraising@sthelena.org.uk or call them on 01206 931 468 to arrange.
Instead of buying sugared almonds or novelty blowing bubbles for your guests you can dedicate your celebration by making a donation to St Helena Hospice. Many couples choose to include a little message on their wedding stationary letting guests know why they've chosen to donate, which can often inspire them to make a gift of their own.
We can supply you with collection pots and envelopes which you could place around your wedding venue and ask guests to donate if they have any spare change. If you're having an open bar this works particularly well! Email fundraising@sthelena.org.uk or call the team on 01206 931 468 to arrange these.
If you have an online giving page for your wedding you could also direct guests to make donations on the day. If you're using JustGiving you can print out a unique QR code your guests can scan to make a cashless donation - why not frame one and pop it next to your collection pot! Find out how to download your fundraising page QR code.
Your donation, large or small, can make a big difference, giving more local people dignity and choice at the end of life.
Read stories DonateWhen you make a donation to St Helena Hospice, we are charged transactional fees by other companies, including fees for processing payments made to us, looking up addresses and validating bank account details.
We are very grateful to our donors who offer to offset some of these fees with a minor addition to their total amount. This is however completely optional and we are very grateful for your support whether or not you choose to contribute to processing fees.
CloseWe are able to claim an extra 25p on every £1 on your donation amount for no extra cost to you, as long as you are a UK tax payer; have paid enough income tax or capital gains tax in that tax year; and are donating your own money. For more information about Gift Aid, please visit www.gov.uk
