We would like to invite you to join us at our Light up a Life service on Sunday 12th December at 4pm, to share together special memories and traditions created with loved ones as we remember and celebrate them at this poignant time of year. 

The service will take place in the garden at St Helena Hospice, Colchester CO4 9JU, and will include readings, Christmas carols sung by a live singer, time for reflection, and the opportunity to display a personalised a tag, in memory of your loved one, along with other families, following the service. 

Tickets will be allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis. We would also like to invite you to join many others and be part of our ‘Memory Lane’, our online virtual wall dedicated to those we miss this Christmas. You can share anything you would like, such as a message, your favourite memory, tradition or wish for the future. Your words may inspire others and bring a little touch of magic to someone else’s Christmas.

What is Light up a Life?
Light up a Life is our Christmas remembrance service, held in the hospice garden.  A time for people to come together and remember their loved ones who are sadly no longer with us. 
When and where is the service?
The service will be help in the St Helena Hospice garden, Colchester CO4 9JU, at 4pm on Sunday 12th December. Please wrap up warm as the service is being held outside.   
Who can attend the service?
Anyone is welcome to attend the service, but places are limited so please book your space early to secure tickets. 
How much does a ticket cost?
The service is completely free, but of course any donations are welcome.
You can make a donation when you register for your ticket. Alternatively you can call the fundraising office to make a donation over the phone on 01206 931 468.

I have a Memory Tree leaf of the tree, can I see my leaf while I am there?
Unfortunately, this year we are unable to invite you to view your leaf on the tree due to the safety restrictions we have in place due to Covid-19. Should you like to visit your leaf please do let us know by contacting us on 01206 931468 or emailing us on memories@sthelena.org.uk 
Will there be any refreshments?
We are unable to offer you any refreshments or the use of the hospice toilet facilities this year as we have had to keep a very simple service due to the restrictions in place to keep our patients safe.  
What is 'Memory Lane'?
Memory Lane is our twinkling tunnel of fairy lights, where we invite you to join together with others at Light up a Life to tie a tag to a light, to remember and celebrate loved ones together. Your tag can be dedicated to someone special, your favourite Christmas tradition or special memory, or simply a wish for the future.  
  
 
Can I just turn up on the day?
We have limited spaces available and they will be on a first come first serve basis so you will need to reserve your space in order to attend. 
Is there parking?
There is parking at the hospice but it is limited so please do car share where possible. 
How long will the service last?
The service will last no more than 30 minutes.    
Can I bring my dog?
Due to the nature of the service, we would ask you to leave your pets at home.
